Thieves Essential Oil Blend – Young Living
Thieves Essential Oil is such an amazing blend. It was created by Gary Young and named for a group of thieves from the 15th century. These thieves robbed the people who were sick or dying from the Bubonic plague, but did not contract the disease themselves. They were using a mix of botanicals similar to that found in the Thieves blend, and it kept them from getting sick.
This blend was not among the first oils I purchased way back in the beginning. When I reactivated in 2015 I got my first bottle of Thieves in my Premium Starter Kit. I had heard a lot about Thieves and how great a blend it was, but I didn’t feel the need for it at the time and it pretty much sat in my kit for a few months.
When school started up again I was convinced to try diffusing it in my classroom to help my immune system deal with all the challenges of a room full of kids. I liked the way it smelled, but still didn’t get what the fuss was about. I have warmed up to Thieves blend now and can’t imaging doing without it. This year I am diffusing Thieves in a smaller space and I love hearing the comments of students. “I smell Christmas cookies!” “It smells like lemon in here!” “It smells good in here!” Yes, children. Yes, it does.
Thieves Essential Oil Infused Products
As you might have read, I have a policy about getting all the free stuff. The first Thieves-infused product I got as a promo was a bottle of Thieves Household Cleaner. It smells just like Thieves! I tried using it and have become a great fan. I love the way my bathroom smells after I clean with Thieves Household Cleaner.
One by one, various other Thieves-infused products have made their way into my home and into my routine. My apples get washed with Thieves Fruit and Veggie spray. I brush my teeth with Thieves toothpaste. I use Thieves laundry soap and dish soap. My purse holds a tin of Thieves mints for those times when I work closely with students. I have Thieves throat lozenges and Thieves cough drops. The most recent Thieves-infused product I’ve added is Thieve foaming hand wash.
My friends kept mentioning Thieves tea, so I tried putting a drop of Thieves Vitality oil in my tea. It certainly adds flavor! Careful, because the clove and cinnamon oil in Thieves can give you a case of “spicy lips”. It turns out there are actual recipes for Thieves Tea. This is the one my husband asks for at times: 1 drop Thieves Vitality, 1 drop Frankincense Vitality, 1 drop Peppermint Vitality, 2 drops Lemon Vitality, with a teaspoon or two of honey, mixed into a cup of hot water or hot tea.
Thieves Essential Oil is a blend that combines clove, lemon, cinnamon, eucalyptus radiata, and rosemary essential oils. It is beautiful in the diffuser, and can also be diluted to apply topically. For ingestion, choose Thieves Vitality.
