Java Moose, Fairplay, CO
Java Moose Coffee House, in Fairplay, CO
When my husband and I visit family in Colorado, we prefer to drive the back-roads instead of taking the Interstate. Our return trip usually comes on a Sunday, and takes us through Fairplay just in time for mid-morning coffee. On our last Sunday drive we decided to stop at Java Moose.
We’ve gotten our Sunday morning coffee at Java Moose before. The service is quick and efficient, and they get our orders right every time. I ordered a 16 ounce latte. My latte was just right, hot enough but not too hot. I found a little shaker of plain cinnamon with the lids and sleeves, so my latte got a taste of cinnamon. There was also a shaker of ground chocolate. It was sweetened, so I passed.
My husband ordered a 16 ounce Chai and he said it was very good. There were some individually wrapped sweet treats offered at the counter, but we didn’t try them. Instead, I snacked on plain raw almonds with my latte.
The Java Moose is a coffee shop and a deli. While we were there, people were ordering off the breakfast menu. There is also a lunch menu with sandwiches.
The Java Moose also features some moose-themed decor. Check them out next time you’re driving through Fairplay, even if it isn’t on a Sunday.
Sunday Drive, not to be confused with Sunday drivers. The latter is all about having nowhere to go and all day to get there, and making sure anyone stuck behind you on the road also adopts a leisurely pace. For us, a Sunday drive is about being together, leaving some of the things that distract us behind. We always have a destination, but the main point is time for us, together.
Do you enjoy a Sunday drive? Where do you like to go?
