21 DSD Pumpkin Spice Donuts
Pumpkin Spice Donuts, Gluten and Sugar Free!
The Pumpkin Spice donuts pictured above were made using a recipe from the 21 Day Sugar Detox cookbook by Diane Sanfilippo. Her eating plan directs us not to frequently eat treats made with almond and coconut flours if the goal is to lose weight. Since I am still working on losing a few more pounds, these donuts have to be something I plan for in terms of my daily intake. One donut, for instance, could replace my morning snack of nuts.
I am a person who REALLY LIKES having a treat from time to time. When I first decided to try these donuts I didn’t have a donut pan. I found the one I use on Amazon. It works very well, but make sure you follow the greasing instructions because coconut flour sticks!
When I bake these donuts, the aroma makes me think of those store donuts that are covered in a sugar-spice mix. Yeah, I used to eat those things because I wasn’t very particular about what I was putting in my mouth. Anyway, once these donuts are cooled, I love pairing one with a cup of hot coffee or tea. They look like donuts so people think you’re eating a donut, and they taste delicious to me. Don’t expect them to be sweet, though, because they aren’t even slightly sweet.
If you’re trying to un-sugar your life, get the book and give these donuts a try. They are worth it!
